About Us

Souths are one of the oldest Rugby league clubs in the Northern division starting around 1908 in Townsville.

The club boast more players in the 2008 Northern Division team of the century then any other club within the region. Just a few of our highest honoured players included, Arch Foley, Jimmy Paterson, Gene Miles, Greg Dowling, Colin Scott, Chris Phelan, Terry Butler, Marshall Colwell, Danny Moore, John Buttigieg and many more.

Today the club has a friendly domineer with a focus to deliver our kids a base understanding of core rugby league skills through a safe and fun filled environment. Souths is located at Victoria Park in South Townsville a stones throw away from Queensland Country Bank Stadium the home of the North Queensland Cowboys and within close proximity of suburbs including, South Townsville, Railway Estate, Oonoonba, Cluden, Elliott Springs, Annandale, Rosslea, Hermit Park, Hyde Park, West End, Belgian Gardens, Rowes Bay, Pallarenda, Yarrawonga, Castle Hill and North Ward.

2023 will see the return of Souths Seniors putting on the paddock A Grade, Reserve Grade and Under 19 teams along with our already successful juniors.
